it was amazing

Myracle has written herself a hit with this book, and it's quite possibly her best-written book to date. The prose in this book is phenomenal and extremely compelling, even though most of the creepy stuff happens in the second half of the novel. I enjoyed Myracle's balance of creepiness and regular high school drama and romance, and she really did a great job describing late 1969, and using quotes from The Andy Griffith Show and the Manson "Family" murder trials (which are specifically used as a backdrop to Bliss' own life) between chapters. The only thing that I'm not too thrilled by is the ending, and most likely if you've read the sequel (of sorts) Rhymes with Witches and didn't like that ending, you might not like this one either. But even so, it is still a good ending, just not one that I personally would have liked to read. Also, another suggestion I have is that once you finish this, read Rhymes with Witches- it's fun to notice all the parallels.
