The Autistic Brain: Thinking Across the Spectrum
Fascinating look at the history of autism in medicine, particularly the diagnosis. Great also for practical advice on how to help autistic children function in the world. Particularly interesting for me is the classification of different types of thinking - visual, pattern, and word-fact. There were parts, especially near the beginning, where it got a little too technical and my mind wandered a bit, but overall the subject matter and Grandin's writing style kept me engaged.
