really liked it

While out in Afghanistan, Ryder and his team are fired upon by the Taliban. His best friend, Kenny, is mortally wounded and as he’s taking his last breaths he asks Ryder to go home and watch over his wife as he fears something that happened right before he deployed has put her in danger.

16 months later and Brenna is finally ready to move on after the death of her husband, Kenny. Getting out there though seems to have put someone’s nose out as she finds herself keep narrowly escaping accidents. Helped by the Grumpy Neighbour next door who always seems to show up right when she needs him.

Eventually the pair get to talking and when Kenny’s old partner from the police force gets involved they all realise just how right Kenny was about there being danger aimed at Brenna.

This was quite an exciting story in the way that you just didn’t know what was going to happen and to who. Add in the fact that Brenna and Ryder were so obviously attracted to each other that even though they weren’t doing anything, the tension surrounding them made it seem sexy.

A very enjoyable read, with lots of drama, some action, suspense and a nice few moments of sexy times, I would definitely recommend giving this one a read. I give Solitary Man 4.5 stars.
