really liked it

This is a fun and breezy little science fiction novel that doesn't take itself too seriously. I liked the premise: a man is killed in an accident and then cryogenically frozen, only to find himself awakened over a century later. Unfortunately his body has been destroyed, but his mind lives on in the form of a software program. The book asks a few questions about what it means to be alive and to be human, but passes them over pretty quickly to get on with its story of space exploration. The main weakness of this book is the lack of real tension in the plot or any of the action sequences. Only one character is fully drawn and the reader never feels that he is in real danger (and even if the hero is killed, copies of him will continue where he left off). Still, I enjoyed this book quite a bit.
