really liked it

In this wordless picture book by Borando, the concept of near and far is the focus. In three two-page spreads a single animal is depicted. The first two-page spread shows the animal up very close. As the reader progresses to the next page, the animal is presented further away, but still not to the extent where the entire animal is seen. The final spread for each of the animals show the animal in its entirety. The illustrations and bright and the simplicity of the animals creates a sense of wonder when attempting to predict what is being seen on the “near” pages. Highly recommended for early childhood libraries.
