Read from August 01 to 15, 2011 — I own a copy

This is the world record holding book for the most translated book by a living author. I have to admit, I didn't see the widespread appeal. I didn't hate it, I thought it was ok, for what it was. But - this book has been described as "life changing." It was not life changing. It was told as a parable. It's a story of an Andalusian boy who goes on a quest to find treasure in Egypt. The story reads quickly and easily and contains a lot of quotable quotes. In fact, it seemed like every other page on my Kindle was filled with underlines from people who had kept notes on this book.

The "wow" just didn't hit me. I kept waiting for something to happen that would seem "life changing" and it never did. Maybe I already knew the moral of the story. Maybe not. Regardless, 3 stars is the maximum I can give it.
