Déclaration Universelle Des Droits De L'homme

I decided to dig out this gem (Universal Declaration for Human Rights for those who don't speak French. French? Let's say it's French.) First published on December 10, 1948, it is rather disturbing that not all articles hold true, even within the U.S.A. Equal pay for equal work? Yeah, still fighting about that one. Under Barack Obama's leadership, marriage was made legal for all consenting adults, but seeing as how the new White House webpage was scrubbed of all references to the lgbtq community, that might backslide in the near future. I don't have the time or energy to pick out more examples tonight. I do want to mention that I read the 1988 edition, illustrated with lovely (if rather disturbing watercolors) by Jean-Michele Folon. On last note I happened to be reading this when the U.S. Congress proposed the U.S. pull out of the United Nations. God bless us, everyone.
