really liked it

I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of The Resignation Letter. It's very gorgeous in its historical-fantasy worldbuilding, and I loved the two lead characters, and the contrast of viewpoints brought on by their social statuses. I also really enjoyed the easy inclusion of non-binary minor characters. Yes, it is that easy!

The central relationship between Amalthea and Eleanor unfolds from innocent to intense with what tests us all: war, politics, and personal values. The commentary of The Resignation Letter is up front and woven in well.

The story is exposition heavy, and I felt like it glossed over things I wanted to read about within the contexts of the universe that had been built. But all of the prose is beautifully written and overall, this is a pleasure to read.
