liked it

I keep coming back to Ms. Castillo's books. I don't think that it is because of the characters alone (although sometimes I think the two "wounded-police-officers-with-a-past" thing is a bit overdone), nor is it plot or writing alone. I just seem to like the complete package. I read this particular book in an afternoon and liked it. I like the setting, but I wish that the rest of the cast of characters was just a bit more developed.

I continue, however, to be bothered by the language. It simply isn't necessary and doesn't add anything. I am always particularly distressed to see females (yes, the gentler gender - both Kate and the author) use language such as is so prevalent in this book. If anything would provoke me to discontinuing my reading of this author, that would be it - her incessant use of foul language. And it is really too bad, the books would be successful (and who knows, maybe more so) without it.
