I Had to Survive: How a Plane Crash in the Andes Inspired My Calling to Save Lives

This book was amazing. This topic has always fascinated me - when I was in my early twenties I read "Alive!" and, having never heard anything about it, read it like a work of fiction that happened to be true - i.e. I had no idea who survived (except for the spoilers inherent in the photograph section) or what happened to them or how they suffered etc. Now this book adds a new dimension, in that the account of the long harrowing unbelievable walk to civilization is told by one of the men who did it and triumphed, and then the result that this man dedicated himself to saving lives in honor and memory of his friends who did not survive. It was enthralling. I loved it.
