really liked it
bookshelves: reviewed, wwii, war, anarchism

Captures the absurdities of war and the morass of partisan infighting, and it does so with the honest and open tone that makes Orwell's work always many steps above the rest. My favorite: the scene where the fascist is running around without his trousers. It's hard to view a guy with his ass hanging out as a faceless monster.
