I asked my wife for a romance suggestion, and this is what she recommended. I don't typically read romance. The first half of the book went quick as I learned about Callie and Nash and their pasts in alternating chapters. Then it slowed down quite a bit as the same scene repeated itself over and over - they'd work, have dinner together and talk, Callie wouldn't tell Nash what was on her mind - and I was getting frustrated. My wife urged me to finish it, which I did, and it wrapped up nicely. It's overall a good story that's mostly believable with sympathetic characters. The writing is very basic, flat in a lot of ways, but that type of writing is probably fine for the genre. I don't have much to compare it to in regards to other romance novels, but I found it to be a decent read. It was about what I was expecting in terms of the experience, and I suspect romance readers would soak this right up.
