Read from August 06 to 08, 2011

A young boy is kidnapped while waiting to be picked up from a hockey practice, A Minnesota BCA agent is kidnapped and severely beaten and Assistant County Attorney Ellen North is assigned as prosecutor for the arrested perpetrator a well liked professor at the local college. Evidence is there but not quite enough for a sure indictment, but Ellen is going ahead in hopes more information comes to light. She has to put up with the politics of her bosses who have their eyes on advancement, The games that are being played buy the kidnapper and his possible accomplices, a pushy and charming ex-lawyer and now true crime novelist who appears on the scene and the arrival of a big city lawyer with questionable ethics and a history with Ellen in the past. Twists and turns as suspects come and go as Ellen and the police work to bring the case to court. Enjoyed it.
