Read in November, 2008

The first chapter is five-star material, but the book loosened from there, and I missed Dickie's crazy-eyed Beat rhythm. Still, a sock monkey is a great vehicle for some id-powered stream-of-consciousness storytelling. A quick, addictive, fast-paced, pop culture-dotted, kind-hearted read.

Micah I enjoyed this one! The main premise was very intriguing, and the storytelling style was interesting, too. I suspect you'll like it.

April I wanted to read this a while back when I first learned about it, but it fell off my radar. Rediscovered it in my current Penn mania, and, of course, my library doesn't have it. Bah.

Micah I'd send you my copy if I were within a few thousand miles of it.
