I do love Christmas stories, and tend to read them whenever I find them, regardless of the time of year. Nothing like bringing a little Christmas spirit into the rest of the year. Unfortunately, Christmas in Montana wasn't especially well-written. It kind of plodded along through the minutae of daily family life on a ranch (superficially drawn) until it reached a mildly interesting (and very predictable) ending. I found myself scanning the pages in seconds rather than reading as I normally would, so as to get to the end faster with enough understanding of the story line and plot to allow the end to make sense. Apparently this is part of an ongoing series about the fictional Calder ranching family by this author. I don't plan to read any of the others.
