The Word for World Is Forest (Hainish Cycle, #5)

In 'The Word for World is Forest," Le Guin elegantly evokes a fictional backdrop wherein human colonizers seeking lumber confront native humanoids living on a distant world, to thoughtfully explore different ways of thinking, knowing, and being. I found the book imaginative, incisive, tragic, and-- occasionally-- gorgeous.
