A Closed and Common Orbit (Wayfarers, #2)

I loved this book so much!! The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (the first in the series) made my Top 5 books of 2015, but I still had a few qualms with it - mostly to do with its very episodic nature. As much as I loved the worldbuilding, I found the 'alien of the chapter' structure distracting.
But having so much crammed into the first book gave this companion novel a solid anchor to build upon. A Closed and Common Orbit is a more intimate book, focusing on two main characters and a small supporting cast rather than an ensemble. There's just more time to devote to Sidra's & Pepper's individual stories, and to take a in-depth look at their whole lives and their character arcs.
I teared up a few times and I absolutely adored the ending. Such a perfect, beautiful note to leave our characters on.
