it was amazing
bookshelves: z-2017

When I first read this book, back in 2005, I didn't have near the same life experiences. I was pregnant with my first child at the time, but I didn't yet have the intimate knowledge of being both a child and a parent. In reading this book now, I found myself viewing the story in the eyes of my son and our relationship. What would it be like to be separated from him in such a terrible experience? What would it be like to watch him be tortured or have him watching me suffer? My eyes have been reopened and my heart aches in a whole new way.
