Shadowspell (Faeriewalker, #2)

Dana's adventures continue, and this time the ancient and terrifying Erlking is thrown into the mix.
The action was very good in this book and I particularly like the story line with the Erlking, which is actually quite a terrifying figure in Northern and Central European lore. I gave it three stars because the dialogue began to grate on my nerves. I understand that Dana must be true to who she is, but isn't it possible that we would start to see a change in her? I got a little tired of the "Like, that is so never happening" type of dialogue. It was like an episode of Friends fell into Lord of the Rings. I also found Dana's father to be a little underdeveloped. If his political ambition was the source of Dana's worry, why wasn't that explored or explained? I felt a little let down by a lack of character development, overall.
