Russell Freeman's another great historical account, the book depicts Lafayette, the Frenchman with strong aspirations for liberty and freedom, helpled the Continental Army win the Revolution. He joined the American cause against all odds before the French committed themselves to help the colonists, who were outnumbered and were in great disadvantage at the beginning of the war. More than a hundred places in the United States were named after this man. I believe reading this book helps me understand the international spirit in this man.
