Ok. It's a long magazine article. Funny writing at the beginning and some neato information on memory acquisition and utilization. Foer becomes the subject in his year long exploration of memorization techniques and the degree to which they can be utilized, but remains admirably objective throughout. This is the story of how he becomes champ in a memory contest interspersed with interesting forays into the history of memory training, the use of memory throughout time, and current scientific studies into memory. I think that the real interest of seemingly unreal memorization is the real reason that this book has such good reviews. He sure picked a very enticing subject.
