Fast, frenetic and undeniably funny in spots. However, in spite of the over-the-top, hyperbolic tone of the book, there was much I found unamusing, particularly one gruesome, gleeful murder at the end. Maybe it's my years doing jail ministry, but I can only find so much comedy in graphic violence (even Clowns vs. Mimes), meaningless sex/prostitution, and full-throttle addiction. The glib cleverness doesn't compensate for the underlying sadness of it all to me.
