liked it

Despite some issues with the book (the soap opera-like plotting on what is already a very dramatic situation is probably the most conspicuous), I was really quite impressed to see how sympathetically it treated its subject (or one of its subject: children who are genetically engineered for their donor compatibility with ill siblings). It is quite touching despite an ending that left me feeling frustrated by its impossible neatness (story-wise that is, it is a cruel twist).
For someone who has read a lot of scifi, and seen that very same subject treated as much more hypothetical countless times, it's an interesting comparison. The characters are much richer and the situations complex that what speculation imagined, and it might be interesting to bring this book into a discussion on genre!
