Mild mannered teenage boy Tatsumi rescues a merman in the park. Wakasa the self-absorbed merman moves in to Tatsumi's bath tub, sponges off him and what's more has lots of friends over - Takasu (half octopus) Mikuni the jellyfish boy and Maki a hermit crab hybrid.

Technically this ticks a lot of boxes for me - merman romance, aquatic hybrids, merman comedy - and it is cute and fun don't get me wrong but its a bit repetitive - Wakasa wants something and Tatsumi usually caves in. The characters are a bit shallow and its more like a series of sketches rather than an in depth story. Also so far there's hardly any romance (well in this volume anyway) - unlike the anime. Still this has it's own charm and you can never have too many mer-folk mangas!
