bookshelves: books-i-ditched

My brother brought this book home from school, and, seeing one of those "classics" I had supposedly missed out on, I decided to pick it up and give it a shot. Half-way in I just put it down again because I couldn't care less. I can tell there is something important to say, but as far as I read, it was nothing I had never heard of before. And while that in and of itself is not altogether a reason to put down a book, the lack of interesting characters or sense of world lost me the rest of the way.
