it was amazing

I love Vlautin's writing and the first reason that comes to mind is his humanity. Vlautin genuinely loves his characters. Sure, some of them are rotten, and bad things happen, but none of it's ever sadistic or pointless. The Motel Life remains my favorite of his, but Lean on Pete is a close second. It's basically a road trip novel involving a horse instead of a car, and it's funny and sad, and sprinkled throughout are moments of genuine beauty and wonder. Vlautin truly is one of my favorite writers.

Briljant.

Deniz Kuypers Inderdaad!
