Funhouse Mirrors (Stephen Connor, #2)

The is the sequel to Trapped in a Hall of Mirrors and continues the career of Stephen Conner in the CIA. The main plot involves Stephen helping a Soviet scientist out of the Soviet Union through Austria. For Tom Clancy fans, you might find a lot of plot similarities with Red Rabbit. But since Funhouse Mirrors is based on the experience of the author, I'm pretty sure Clancy got the idea for Red Rabbit from Michael Connick's experience in the CIA!
There's still room for improvement, though. For example, the KGB made an elaborate plan to foil the defection, but the CIA managed to fool them. The KGB's reaction of being snookered would've been a funny read.
The ending suggested that this will not be the last we hear about Stephen Conner's exploits in the CIA. Looking forward for the next book.
