This fifth title in the beginning chapter book series features Cocoa finding his way into Cowgirl Kate's house. She tells him he must go back to the barn before there's trouble, but he refuses to leave--he's having too much fun exploring the indoors. Betsy Lewin's watercolors are lively and lend a sense of fun to the story, which lacks the humor found in some other beginning chapter series (Cynthia Rylant's Mr. Putter & Tabby and Poppleton, and Denys Cazet's Minnie & Moo, for example), but is still appealing to young horse lovers, who will enjoy tackling these books on their own.
