Good - worth the read, I am looking forward to see how this whole big event (recapturing the islands) unravels in the end. So, this was not was FANTASTIC as the first, but a definite stepping stone in big picture. I must admit that I am a sucker for a good fairy tale, so the first book really captured my heart. This book did not have that tie in and it really was just a good continuation of a great story.

I am also a sucker for great characters ... Sorcha was one of the best female characters I have come across for a while. And Red won my heart rather quickly. So, Liaden was just tooooo much of an imitation of her mother - I really would have liked to see the heroine of this novel be her own - maybe Niamh's story would have been more up my alley - who knows.

Anyhow - I give it a thumbs up - just not going to recommend it to my own daughters quite yet - got the heat up a bit in there - WHEW!!!

I am looking forward to rest of this story ... and thus ends my ramble!
