Who Goes There?

A very interesting concept, but poorly executed. It felt rushed, the writing wasn’t clear, and at times the characters blended into each other. It felt like a small sized novel squashed into a short story. I feel that it would have benefited from more depth with more character and location development.
At times the book was hard to follow, and upon reading Wikipedia entries, I discovered events that I did not know occurred. Having seen The Thing definitely helped with my reading and I would have been much more confused without the knowledge.
In the film, the setting of Antarctica is a fantastic plot element, but disappointingly has no real bearing on this book.
