An interesting book. I quite enjoyed the first half. The second half was not nearly as good, however. In fact I go so far to say that the first half Parts 1 and 2 are a complete book in themselves. The book leads up to the ending of part 2 where Michael valentine Smith is sent out in the world. Heinlein did not stop here, which is unfortunate. Parts 3-5 are not nearly as well done. They consist of rambling adventures and strange interjections. There is definitely good content within, but it is not very well handled. The last 3 parts do not read like a complete book. The parts themselves do not even necessarily read like a single section. The novel is certainly male centric as I had read about Heinlein, which is not unusual for the time and genre. I expected it to be far worse than it was. It looked down on women no more than Star Trek, and in the author's mind clearly not at all. He believes he is portraying women quite admirably.
