really liked it

"Massacre Pond" starts out with game warden Mike Bowditch investigating the massacre of 10 moose on the property of former hippie turned wealthy entrepreneur turned environmentalist Elizabeth Morse. The crimes continue to escalate as Bowditch and senior Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife scramble to identify the culprits responsible. Doiron brings back Bowditch, the rule-bending young warden who has a propensity for infuriating his superiors while solving crimes in his own way. This is a fast read, crisply written and richly described.
