bookshelves: dystopia, medicine, philosophical, political, science-fiction, ya

Well I'd been kinda taking a break from YA for awhile but I'd heard this series was good and I do love dystopias (dystopiae?) so I gave it a try. The basic premise is a society where everyone is made pretty at a certain age, ostensibly to remove all of the societal problems that came from people being too different.

It's a really fast-paced read and I like the world and all of the layers that keep unpeeling. The main character is a bit annoying but she is a 16 year old girl, so.... I feel like such an Old just saying that but I did find myself getting annoyed with her decisions.

I think that Leviathan(by the same author) was better written than this book but this had a much more interesting story. And it ends on a cliffhanger, which means I will def. have to read the rest of the series.
