really liked it
bookshelves: young-adult, boys

Another book that was recommended for boys. Levi's brother, a Marine, returns home and nobody quite knows how to deal with him. Levi realizes that Bo (Boaz) is up to something and the story shifts from Boston suburbs to a journey to Washington, D.C. I do wish Bo had shared more of his story earlier and given us a broader picture of his struggles, but I like how Levi struggles to understand himself and his brother.

I don't think this is for middle-schoolers. As soon as I see words like "father's pubic hair" and "masturbate", red flags start flying. Sometimes those words/images are absolutely necessary - here-not so much. Also, my book (from the library)had three pages throughout that were blank (weird, I know), so I have no idea what was on those pages.
