This is a wonderful book that gives you a glimpse into medieval England and it's society; i loved the historical setting. i felt like i wanted to go to Medieval Times after i read it, and i've never had any desire to go there, so i guess it changed me. Then I thought about how most people lived then, and I was ready to submit to God's placing me here and now :).

i liked Katherine, and cared about what happened to her, but i just couldn't get over her role as mistress... I wish she would have held back more... and, at times, i felt the author was so enthralled with this idea of the Katherine that she had studied/ created, that she was writing a book to justify Katherine and John.
