“It's still two human beings trying to get along, so it's going to be complicated. And love is always complicated. But humans must try to love each other, darling. We must get our hearts broken sometimes. This is a good sign, having a broken heart. It means we have tried for something.”

–Elizabeth Gilbert

This book has been so effective at being itself that I've lost count of the number of other books I've heard described as Eat, Pray, Love with some kind of twist.

My girlfriend sent this off with me before I left the country for what felt like the hundredth time in a year. She told me my constant journeying reminded her of this book. After reading it, I took that as a compliment. I especially loved the Italian portion of Gilbert's travels, as she learns the beauty of doing nothing.
