A steam-punk golem to fight vampires and werewolves in Victorian London with a sarcastic, assertive spinster for a main character? Yes, please.

I love everything about Alexia Tarabotti--that she is Italian, plain, soulless, and a bluestocking--but I love best that she is so perfectly Victorian for all that she is an outsider. It is breeches in decorum, imperfectly tied cravats, and sartorial failures that cause her far greater distress than the vampiric attacks, wild werewolves, and multiple attempts on her life. The style of this story leaves nothing to be desired.
