“Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spent all your time thinking about them.”

–Mark Haddon

I was looking forward to reading this book, I'd heard such good things about it. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my hopes.

While I thought an autistic protagonist investigating odd occurrences could make for a unique character voice and an interesting way to drive plot, I unfortunately found Haddon's approach way too gimmick based. I never caught on to the story, and the book wound up falling flat.
