I loved Ghost Story, even though I generally hate everything involving Ghosts.

In a departure from the previous books, in which we feasted on magical action, this book toned down the use of magic considerably. Instead preferring to focus on character driven emotional content.

The previous book "Changes" showcased Dresden in a state of desperation. Having him assume a "No matter the cost" mindset. "Ghost Story" forces Dresden to confront the price he paid and, more importantly, the price others had to pay.

- Strong character development.
- Great emotional content.
- A lot of reflection on what Dresden means the world around him.
- Lots of the signature humor that fans of the series know and love.

- Less mystical action than we fans have become accustomed to.
- Not quite as many characters get face time as you might hope for.
- This book doesn't work well as a "stand alone" novel, it's plot flows almost like an epilogue to the previous book "Changes".
