I absolutely loved this book. It's a story of an ordinary German family in an ordinary German town during World War II who is really anything but ordinary. The narrator of the novel is Death, and through his/her(?) eyes, we see the story of Liesel, a young girl living the horrors of war, and those around her. Highly recommended.

Note - the publisher says this book is for young adults, but honestly, I would disagree. The themes are much more adult.
