Yet another good YA novel from Shannon Hale. Her Bayern series has great character development, and I think Razo is her best. He is certainly the most entertaining and she writes about both his best and worst traits in such a clear, true voice. There were some parts that seemed a little off, not quite with the tone of the novel, and Razo at times seemed a little more dense than he really was (I mean, he was the spy, the supposedly observant one, but yet when it came to the people he was closest too, he failed to notice quite a lot--unless that's saying something about his character, I wasn't sure). Overall, a quick and entertaining read.
