I love historical fiction that has a touch of intrigue, a little mystery and a little romance. This book had all that and was a quick, enjoyable read. I have read a lot about Tudor England and especially about all the wives of Henry VIII. I have read a variety of books from various points of view with different key players in King Henry's court and this book presented yet another side - that of the would-be Irish princess, Elizabeth "Gera" Fitzgerald, if it wasn't for the King of England stealing their throne. She is a new person for me to learn about but I liked hearing how she fit in with Elizabeth Tudor and Mary Tudor. I also enjoyed reading about Lady Jane Grey too! It was kind of exciting to learn that King Henry had secret rooms and that his final will was never signed - the author put Gera into all this speculation with as good of a guess as she could glean from history and made an interesting story indeed!
