it was amazing

Vivian's mother is a writer who also owns a bookstore. That means Vivian has her dream after school job. She spends as much time at the bookstore as she can and her favorite genre is romance. She writes about it on her blog and she runs a book club. Vivian prefers reading about love in books, her own love life is messy and she certainly didn't get her happy ending. She was in love with the same guy for years and when he finally noticed her he used her and broke her heart. She's done with love and makes a list of possible candidates who can't hurt her because she doesn't like them enough to care. It seems like a perfect plan, but what happens when she meets someone she does like enough to feel something?

Vivian's mother has hired Dallas, the new guy at Vivian's school, to work on a project for the bookshop. He's a computer genius and the store needs a software system. Dallas is smart enough to design it. Working together with him makes Vivian's heart beat faster, but she's promised herself she won't listen to her feelings any longer. Dallas is a hot nerd, Vivian's exact dream guy, but she can't be brokenhearted again. Will she eventually be prepared to take the chance or has Vivian been crushed too much to ever consider dating someone she actually likes again?

The Replacement Crush is a great love story. Vivian is a sweetheart. She is trustworthy, generous and kind. I instantly liked her. I did want to talk some sense into her every now and then, but understood her problems as well. She has a lot of growing up to do and it was fun to witness her journey. She likes Dallas from the start, but she doesn't want to and keeps fighting it. He's an adorable guy with a wonderful sense of humor. He's incredibly talented as well and has a confidence that made me smile. He's kind and caring and his openness about his feelings made my heart melt. Dallas and Vivian have an amazing connection. I loved their conversations, they're intelligent and funny. They have sparkling chemistry and it's clear from the start that they're made for each other. I couldn't wait to find out if Vivian would take that final, very scary, step.

Lisa Brown Roberts writing is vivid and I love the way she describes her settings. I kept wishing I could visit the bookshop, it's a dreamy place filled with the most fantastic books and charming customers. It's a special shop where magic happens, which made the story even more romantic for me. I love it when a book has nerdy main characters, so that was a big bonus as well. The Replacement Crush is a sweet and flirty book that also has a good amount of depth. I really enjoyed reading this endearing story.
