Whenever I feel in the mood to read a fun, flirty, and witty romance, Cindi Madsen is always one of my go to authors!

This is the third book in her NA series called "Taking Shots," but is definitely a stand alone.

The setting is Boston College where we meet Megan, a freshman, and Dane a junior. Both have made mistakes they are desperately trying to forget but also rectify. They also have had enough drama in their young lives to last the rest of their days.

Megan is the nerdy type who is academically gifted, but is very lonely. She has just never fit in, never had friends she could trust, and was the butt of jokes in high school due to her parent's affairs. She ditches her stifling life in New Hampshire and enrolls where her older brother, Beckett, attends college hoping for a fresh start. Beckett is very protective of Megan, knowing all the crap she has dealt with over the past few years. He also plays hockey for Boston College and warns all his teammates his sister is off limits. He especially threatens one teammate in particular, who has a less than stellar reputation, to keep his hands off of her!

Enter, Dane, said teammate, who has set two goals - be a better person and focus on being the best when it comes to playing hockey. He is trying to get drafted into the NHL so he can financially help out his parents and four younger sisters. His checkered past with the opposite sex is common knowledge as he has become "one of those guys" who gets plastered every weekend to numb the pain of a really bad decision he made a year ago. By the end of an alcohol filled night, he usually finds himself in bed with a random girl and leaves her crying the next morning when he walks out the door unable to commit to anything other than a casual hook-up. He hates being "that guy" and vows to change. Refusing to hurt anyone else and knowing full well he isn't relationship material, he is determined to devote all his time and energy to playing hockey and getting his degree. Of course all bets are off once he meets the beautiful and funny Megan at a party and his heart decides it has other plans!

I enjoyed the dual POV writing style between Megan and Dane. Their chemistry was addictive and totally kept my interest.

Thank you, Danielle! I really enjoy Cindi's sense of humor. "Ready To Wed" had me in stitches, and her "Hope Springs" series was my favorite. I hope you will enjoy her wit and romance as much as I do.
