This was the audio version, narrated by James Bryce.

Bob Skinner's team is still grieving for the loss of colleague Steve, who died in the pursuit of an alleged murderer. The murderer committed suicide. The discovery of a young woman murdered in the same way leads to investigations of leaks in high places, the backgrounds of some shady individuals and soul-searching by Skinner and his team members before and unlikely killer is identified.

This is the first Skinner book I have read. I would read more.
James Bryce's narration was splendid.
