The Trap is was a very different yet refreshing read for me. The whole setting of the novel is 90% in the protagonist Linda's mind. Having lived in seclusion for over a decade, makes Linda an unreliable narrator because the loneliness must impact her psychology. This quality makes the reading more interesting. You, as a reader, don't know what to believe.
Not only is this book in Linda's mind, but also there is a novel within a novel. I liked this element to as it made the events more interesting.
This book is a binge worthy book. The pace is fine, according to the needs of the novel.
Mid way the pace dipped a little, but then it took off and went through to the end.
I didn't get the major twist feeling that shakes the ground under my feet, but the suspense and thrill wasn't dull or missing.
Definitely worth a read!
