it was amazing

Excellent title - there are seven lectures, they're brief and about physics. What is doesn't convey is Carlo Rovelli's enthusiasm, humanity and sense of wonder. For me there was nothing new in the book, as I have read many others on the topics, but I was impressed with how he managed to convey both how little we know and how very, very strange the universe is.
Physics has come a long way in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, but we are still waiting that great integration of quantum mechanics and general relatively that will give us a coherent theory of the whole universe, and some clue to what it is really like.
If you don't know much about physics, this is a great start and an introduction to why it is so important. If you do know physics, it's still worth reading because it reminds you why we pursue this fascinating subject.
