Holy cow, the whole time I was reading this, I just couldn't believe it was a true story!! What Jeannette Walls had to grow up with and how she ended up turning it into something positive is a real inspiration to everyone. Never again will I complain about my childhood! Jeannette had me laughing and feeling sorry for her at the same time! She has such detailed memories of many events in her life beginning at age three when she was on fire. I admire the fact that she doesn't seem bitter towards her crazy parents for all that they put her through. I will never look at homeless people the same again, either. This book gives you insight as to how some people end up on the streets, and the mentality that got them there. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys hearing about crazy families that will make your own family seem pretty "normal".

Rachel I NEED to add this book to my list! Read it last year and it was FANTASTIC, a Micah Wilson book group pick. Try "A Girl Named Zippy" you'll love it too!

Chanelle Thanks for the tip, I'll have to remember that title!

Aimee My kind of book! Just read it for book club. I love feeling like my family isn't so bad!
