Lynn Barber is probably not the world's nicest person, but she can write -- her style is sharp and short, journalistic. The best part of her memoir is not the chapter recounting her affair with an older man in the 60's, although by rights it should be, what with the sex and criminals and everything, but rather the last chapter about her husband's illness and death.
