This is in the form of a diary of a young Quaker girl who, along with her brother, spend time in captivity among the Lanape Indians in the 1760's and afterward. Some sections of the diary are very interesting and informative; other parts seemed like there was a little too much time where nothing much happened. I'm not sure whether every middle-schooler would read long enough to reach the best adventures; I am an adult, however, so I very well could be wrong. The historical information is fascinating, and it is based on a true story.
